Ahmedabad may get light showers
The city could get light to moderate showers on Wednesday and Thursday
The city could get light to moderate showers on Wednesday and Thursday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast on Tuesday. An upper-air cyclonic circulation over Gujarat and its neighbouring areas will bring rain to Kheda, Panchmahal, Dahod, Tapi, Dang, Narmada, Valsad, Navsari and all districts of Saurashtra. On Tuesday, Jamnagar, Amreli, Dahod, Panchmahal and Valsad received rainfall.
Late on Tuesday, parts of Saurashtra reported light to moderate showers. Till August 19, Gujarat has received 89% of its average seasonal rainfall.
Met department officials said no major system that could produce heavy rainfall is prevailing, unlike earlier this month. “A few systems however are likely to produce rainfall in almost all parts of the state. Only a few districts are still in deficit when it comes to rainfall till August 19,” said a senior IMD official. Earlier this month, parts of Gujarat, especially the districts in the southern and eastern parts, received heavy rain.
