On receiving intelligence an about an illegal call centre being run at flat near a mall in Sughad village, LCB cops raided the flat and caught three men, who allegedly cheated hundreds of people.

LCB PI Niraj Patel said the persons arrested are Vijay Chauhan, 38, a resident of Chandkheda; Jagdish Ahir, 23, a resident of Naroda; and Kalpesh Gohil, 23, a resident of Sughad. They have been booked for cheating and breach of trust by Adalaj police.
The trio enlisted the help of two persons from Delhi, known as Rahul and Roni, to develop websites that would appear to provide the services of sex workers.
“When someone would look for sex workers on the two websites developed by the Delhi duo for the accused, they would get Chauhan’s contact number. The target would call Chauhan, who would send them photographs of young women and their prices,” a police official said.
The person seeking the service was asked to pay half the sum in advance. If that person sent the payment, Chauhan and his aides would send him an audio of a woman from another number, telling the person to come to a particular hotel.
After reaching the hotel, the person, as instructed by the woman in the audio message, would send a message saying he was at the venue. The target would get another audio message, telling him to make the full payment and then go to a particular room. As soon as the target made the payment, Chauhan and aides would block the number and withdraw the money.
