Gaurav Dahiya was present during child’s birth in Delhi: Police

AHMEDABAD: Gandhinagar police inquiring into the bigamy allegation levelled against IAS officer Gaurav Dahiya by a Delhi-based woman got evidence from her which established the bureaucrat’s presence at a private hospital in New Delhi when she gave birth to a child in November 2018.
An official of Gandhinagar police told TOI, “The woman has provided us with more evidence establishing their relationship.Besides chats between them on a social media platform, she has also provided us a file of hospital where she gave birth to a girl child last year.”
“The file shows that Dahiya had given consent before she was taken to operation theatre for delivery. This means Dahiya was present there,” added official. The official added that the evidence given by the woman established that they had a close relationship. “We will come to any conclusion only after examining all the documents,” said the official.The woman, a resident of Malviya Nagar in New Delhi, had last month written to ACP, crime against women in Delhi, alleging that Dahiya had breached her trust and indulged into bigamy twice. The complaint was forwarded to Gandhinagar police who began an inquiry but as of now no FIR has been registered.
