A ccording to India Meteorological Department (
IMD) website,
Gandhinagar was the coldest place in
Gujarat with minimum temperature of 9.7 degrees celsius. Deesa was second with 10.9 degrees followed by Valsad, Kandla (11.6) and Naliya, Ahmedabad (11.8).
As per IMD website, northerly to northeasterly winds prevail over the region and it is unlikely that the minimum temperature may rise in next 2-3 days.
The Met department officials however observed that there is a large gap in minimum and maximum temperature now - while the maximum temperature of 30.8 degrees matches the average, minimum temperature is still 2.9 degrees below normal, resulting in double weather effect where early mornings and nights are colder and afternoons warmer.
