AHMEDABAD: A 52-year-old woman from the Vastrapur area of the city on Saturday filed a
complaint of assault against her son, stating that he
attacked when she told him to start working and earning money.
Manju Chudasama, a resident of Shubhlakshmi Flats in Vastrapur, in her FIR with Vastrapur police stated that she has two sons, Manish (32) and Sandip (31) and a daughter, Monali (24).
She has been having financial problems for 25 years, ever since her husband died of tuberculosis.
On Friday night, Sandip got home late and she asked him what was he doing outside so late in the night. She then asked him why he did not start working somewhere to earn some money. This did not go down well with Sandip who started abusing and telling her not to raise the issue of his job.
When Manish intervened and told Sandip not to talk to his mother rudely, Sandip got furious and started attacking Manish. Manju tried to pacify them but Sandip did not listen to her and instead also started hitting her.
Manju’s neighbours called the police control room and Vastrapur police rushed to the spot. Police booked Sandip for assault and for uttering obscene words based on Manish’s statement.
During primary investigation, police learned that Sandip was often abusive with his family members and often picked fights with them over trivial issues.
