Ahmedabad: Married man films tryst with 21-year-old, puts it on social media

AHMEDABAD: Getting close to a man through social media had nasty consequences for 21-year-old woman from Naroda. She briefly met one Shantilal Parmar at a wedding ceremony in Rajasthan, where Parmar got her Instagram ID and mobile number and began started chatting with her.
The woman soon fell for Parmar. Police sources said that after a while time, Parmar, a native of Valsad, landed came to Ahmedabad and met the woman at a hotel near Galaxy Cinema in Naroda.
“Here, Parmar said he was unmarried and proposed to marry her. They had sex and Parmar filmed their intimate moments on his mobile phone,” said a senior police official of Naroda police station.
The woman, in her complaint alleging rape and violation of the Information Technology Act, that whenever she asked Parmar about them getting married, he would make one excuse or the other. “Suspicious, she found out through her relatives in Valsad that Parmar was married and even had a child,” a police official said.
Police sources said that when the woman told Parmar what she had discovered, he threatened her, saying if she did not meet him, he would upload images from their intimate moments on social media.
“The woman was scared and met Parmar at the same hotel. Here Parmar forced himself on her. The woman later got engaged to another youth,” a police official.
When Parmar learned about the engagement, he called the victim to Rajasthan, showed her the video he had shot, and posted it on social media. “Parmar even sent the video to the youth she was engaged to, which resulted in the engagement being called off. The victim then approached us on Wednesday and lodged a complaint against Parmar,” said a Naroda police official.
