AHMEDABAD: Gandhinagar police on Monday formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate three murders, all of whom were men and were shot dead.
The SIT will be headed by DSP Gandhinagar Vikramsinh Solanki and will have four police inspectors, one each from local crime branch, special operations group (SOG), Adalaj police station and Infocity police station.AHMEDABAD
“All three killing were carried out with the same pistol, which police say indicates that a serial killer is behind the three murders, of which two took place in Adalaj and one in Koba,” said a member of the SIT.

The SIT was formed after the third murder, where Juthaji Thakor (45) of Sertha village was shot in the head in Adalaj, said a police official.
On December 9, 2018, Keshav Patel (74), a resident of Shahibaug who ran a construction materials business at the open plot near Preksha Bharti Ashram in Koba, was gunned down by an unidentified man. The incident took place just 1.5km from the Gujarat BJP headquarters, Kamalam, which is a high security zone. Gandhinagar police have remained clueless in this case.
Before that, a 65-year-old man from Adalaj, Jogaji Bharwad was shot when he was sitting near a temple watch his cattle graze.
“None of the victims had any rivalry with anyone and all three had different backgrounds and no connection with each other whatsoever. Besides, all the three murders took place at secluded places where no surveillance cameras are installed,” said the official, adding that there were no witness in any of the three cases.
