AHMEDABAD: A delegation of tax professionals from across Gujarat met Union finance minister, Arun Jaitley, on Thursday and discussed issues related to the GSTN website, due to which they are facing problems for filing GST returns.
The delegation was led by Varis Isani, president, Gujarat Sales Tax Bar Association (GSTBA), who drew the finance minister’s attention towards the various glitches in the system and functioning of GSTN due to which taxpayers and tax professionals are facing difficulties in filing tax returns.

“A detailed memorandum representing our problems and suggesting simplification of compliance procedures has also been submitted before FM Arun Jaitley,” said Harnish Modh, secretary, GSTBA.
Tax professionals have sought waiver of late fees and simplification of procedures in filing GST returns and forms. “That apart, we have also urged not to levy late fees till March 31, 2018. We have also sought that single quarterly returns for transactions of sales and purchases which could be filed with one click and without an OTP,” said Isani.
