AHMEDABAD: A woman English teacher at a private school in Sector 23, Gandhinagar, on Saturday filed a complaint of assault against the parents of a student. She also accused her school in-charge of abetting the crime and abusing her.
The complainant, Amita Mishra, 47, resident of Pethapur in Gandhinagar, stated that she has been teaching at Shrimati RG Patel Girls Secondary and SB Patel Girls Higher Secondary school in Sector 23 since June 15, 1996.

On Friday morning, when she was teaching in Class 12, a girl student constantly kept teasing her. Reacting to this, Mishra sent her to the principal’s office. After classes ended, she was called by school in-charge Geetesh Patel to his cabin. When she went to Patel’s cabin, the parents of that girl student were also there, states the FIR filed with Sector 21 police. “Seeing Mishra in front of them, the girl’s parents began abusing her and tried to hit her. To evade their attacks, Mishra rushed out of the cabin but the girl’s father also went out and slapped Mishra by holding her hair,” states the FIR.
The parents threatened her saying that they would kill her if she ever harassed their daughter, adds the FIR.
Mishra then called up police control room and a PCR van reached the school. But this time, Patel told the cops that no such incident of assaulting a teacher had occurred in the school despite knowing that Mishra was waiting to get help from police, states the FIR.
When Mishra countered Patel, he also abused her and bragged that police could not harm him. After this, Mishra approached Sector 21 police and filed a case of assault and uttering abusive words against the parents of the student and Patel.
