AHMEDABAD: As the winter is still to bid adieu to the city, the minimum temperature dipped slightly on Saturday, recording 13°C, slightly lower than 13.2°C on Friday. Overall, India Meteorological Department (IMD) website mentioned that the minimum and maximum temperatures on Saturday were 1.6 degrees and 1.7 degrees lower than the average temperature.
Northerly to northeasterly winds are still prevailing at lower levels over the region.
'No large change in minimum temperature very likely over the region during next 24 hours and thereafter gradual rise in minimum temperature very likely over the region,' mentioned the website.
Naliya was the coldest place in Gujarat with temperature of 11.2°C, followed by 11.4°C in Gandhinagar. "Compared to multiple days of sub-10 degree celsius temperatures, the overall temperature has increased but it will take some time before the significant rise is recorded," said an official. The extended colder period has also kept the health officials on toes with widespread cases of swine flu and double-season symptoms.
