The majority heads to metros from Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: Be it for a business trip, a leisure getaway or taking a connecting flight to another destination, a maximum of passengers taking a flight from Ahmedabad airport tend to move towards metro cities. According to data by aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), flights to some 24 destinations operate from Ahmedabad, of which, the highest passenger movement was seen to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune, during the period between January to May this year.

“Several companies based in Ahmedabad are headquartered in Mumbai or Delhi.
Moreover, these are also top destinations for taking connecting flights to international destinations. Thanks to this, maximum traffic is seen towards these cities. That apart, a lot of migrated population from Gujarat also travels to other metro cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and Hyderabad, where software and automobile industry has a deep presence,” said owner of a city-based travel company.
