Two fake policemen held in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: Impostors are taking advantage of vehicle checking drives organised by the cops.
On Saturday cops from zone – 5 squad arrested two persons Ghanshyam Dalwadi, 25, of Kathwada and Bharat Thakor of Krishnagar impersonating policemen in Meghaninagar area of the city and extorting money from commuters on pretext of traffic fines.
Senior police officials said during interrogation it came to light that Dalwadi had bought a home guard uniform and tagged on two stars on the shoulders and sported a holster.
“Though he had bought the home guard uniform from Morbi, he had forgotten to take off the badge of Morbi Home Guards from the belt. This nailed him. Both have been arrested,” said a senior police official.
