Woman bootlegger arrested by Ahmedabad police

A day after her video in which she was thrashing a man went viral, Ahmedabad city police on Wednesday morning arrested notorious bootlegger, Sitara Bhadbhuja, 37, while taking a legal step under Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) section 151.

AHMEDABAD: A day after her video in which she was thrashing a man went viral, Ahmedabad city police on Wednesday morning arrested notorious bootlegger Sitara Bhadbhuja while taking a legal step under Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) section 151.
In the video which went viral on Tuesday, Bhadbhuja is seen thrashing a man, aged around 20, while asking how he tried to take her money.
In the same video, a male voice could be heard asking the man, who was being beaten, to keep his hands down and not to defend himself. While Bhadbhuja was punching and kicking the man, the other man was saying call his brother to take his account. Meanwhile, Sitara threatened him, "Take your hands down. I will teach you a lesson so that you would never take away anyone's money."
Bhadbhua, 37, is a resident of Manilal Mathur Chawl near Hasan Shaheed shrine in Bapunagar. In August 2018, she was arrested by Bapunagar police following raids at her house. In the police station, she gave slip to cops and fled away but re-arrested a day later.
Inspector HB Chaudhari of Bapunagar police said that the cops held Bhadbhuja from her house on Wednesday morning. Apart from her, her brother—Mohammed Tahir, who was externed following offences of assaults and bootlegging on him, was also arrested as he entered the city despite externment orders.
Chaudhari said that the man, who was being thrashed and kicked by Bhadbhuja, has been identified as her employee—Divan Pathan. Even after the assault, Pathan did not register a case with the police, he added.
