Ahmedabad: Woman threatened with pistol

AHMEDABAD: A 45-year-old woman on Monday lodged a complaint of criminal intimidation and stalking against a man who had pointed a revolver at her for refusing his marriage proposal.
The woman — Purna Patel, a resident of Chandkheda — stated before the police that she met a man named Dipak Patel, a resident of Ellisbridge, through a matrimonial site in December last year.
They had first decided to marry and told their family members about their relationship but due to their lack of compatibility, the woman decided not to marry Patel. “After I refused to marry him, we used to meet as friends and Dipak often tried to convince me to marry him. Despite my clear refusal, Dipak started stalking me,” said the woman in the FIR.
“On November 6, he followed me when I was going to meet my friend at Orchid Tower on New CG Road. When I was parking my two-wheeler at my friend’s place, he took out a revolver, pointed it at me and threatened to kill me if I did not enter a relationship with him. I tried to grab his hand and snatch the revolver and we had a scuffle. I then started screaming for help, after which he fled,” she said.
The woman later found a bullet at the spot, which she produced before the police and filed an FIR against Dipak Patel.
