Two years ago, Melania Trump visited a migrant child detention centre wearing a jacket with the words, “I really don’t care, Do u?” Our corporators and MLAs should perhaps borrow from the US First Lady’s style manual, as it seems to represent their attitude towards their responsibilities. Citizens have been shouting themselves hoarse about poorly maintained roads — Kasavanahalli is a case in point — and all that can be heard from BBMP and BWSSB are promises to do the needful, which, unfortunately, never seem to translate into reality.


Water tankers and schoolbuses often get stuck on roads in these localities, and rain has only exacerbated the situation. Exasperated, residents have requested Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to repair the stretches as soon as possible before monsoon comes knocking.
