BENGALURU: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said his government will take a call on restarting drive against encroachments on storm water drains in the city only after survey report from the revenue department.
"I am aware of certain constructions encroaching on storm water drains and the same is leading to flooding of low lying areas. However, eviction drive will leave many homeless and we have to consider the human angle as well.
We will take a call on this but there will be no drive for now," he added.
CM said he has instructed BBMP officials to act on war footing basis to ensure rain water doesn't enter into the houses of residents. "I have also directed chief secretary to hold a meeting of concerned officials to check and act on flood prone areas," he added.
