Bhopal boy tops CA final exam
BHOPAL: Bhopal boy, Nayan Goyal, secured the first rank in Chartered Accountancy (CA) Final (New) Exam in the country. This is the first time, that the All India topper in CA is from Bhopal.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) declared the results on Tuesday evening. Nayan scored 607 out of 800 — securing 320 in Group I and 287 in Group II.
Talking to TOI, Nayan said hard work and a disciplined approach helped him secure the top spot.
“My father runs a business of readymade garments and my mother is a government school teacher. I am the first from my family to become a CA.”
He added, “My family has always told me to be focused and disciplined in life, no matter what I do. This is why I have a habit of preparing a proper schedule and working according to it since childhood — and it helped me while preparing for the CA exams.”
Nayan did his schooling from Canyon Higher Secondary School and scored 85% marks.
Meanwhile, Saloni Jindal of Indore secured All India Rank (AIR) 6 in final examination of chartered accountants. Jindal, who secured 583 marks in her first attempt used to study for 10-12 hours, which reached up to 14-16 hours per day as examination neared. She plans to join a non-CA firm.
The foundation and final result (old and new) of chartered accountants was declared on Tuesday. 5,753 candidates cleared the foundation examination out of 30,971 candidates, who had appeared whereas nine final year aspirants from Indore have got into AIR top-100.

Shreyash Jain of Indore secured AIR-16 followed by Avni Jain from Dewas, who obtained AIR 18, Tushar Agrawal AIR 19, Shivangi Gupta AIR 23, Radhika Gaggar of Burhanpur got AIR 23. Indore’s Nitya Kabra AIR 28, Urvashi Khatri obtained AIR 29, Suraj Fatehchandan got AIR 43, followed by Rajat Mantri AIR 44 and Prachi Budawanwala AIR 49.
“All three examinations were conducted in May. For first time, we had introduced objective question of 30 marks out of 100 in the final year examination and because of this reason the result was much better. However, the foundation result wasn’t as good as that of the previous year,” chairperson of board of studies CA Kemisha Soni told TOI.
