Bhopal metropolitan to be developed like NCR

BHOPAL: The state government will develop metropolitan areas along Bhopal and Indore and is mulling to extend metro rail projects in the two cities to these areas on the lines of National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi.
This was announced by minister for Urban Administration and Development Jaivardhan Singh in the state assembly on Sunday.
Replying to the discussion on budgetary provisions of his department, the minister said extending neighbouring cities around Bhopal and Indore would benefit by the decision.
Stating that a state capital region would be developed around Bhopal encompassing Shyampur, Sehore and Obedullaganj towns, he said Dewas, Ujjain and Pithampur towns would be developed as Indore metropolitan area.
