Bhopal records season's highest temperature on Thursday

BHOPAL: Scorching weather conditions prevailed in the state capital and other parts of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday as Bhopal recorded the highest temperature of the season so far with the mercury level touching 41 degree Celsius. At majority of places in the state, the day temperature remained above the 40 degrees mark.
The possibility of some respite is dismal in the coming days and the temperatures would continue to rise or at the best remain at the prevailing levels, said weather officials.

Officials at the Meteorological department, Bhopal circle, said there would be clouding in parts of the state on Friday due to a trough over west Rajasthan and adjoining parts of north MP. But it would not help in reducing the hot conditions and temperatures would by and large remain at the prevailing levels in Bhopal and other parts of the state.
The day temperature in Bhopal on Thursday was recorded at 41 degree Celsius, which was four degrees more than the normal mark, while the night temperature was recorded at 22.9 degree Celsius, which was three degrees more than the normal mark.
The day temperature was not only the highest e of the season so far, but also the highest after 2016 going by the temperature data of the first four days of April, Met officials said, adding the overall highest temperature of the month is 44 degree Celsius, which was recorded in 2009.
The wind direction was north westerly and the average wind speed was 14 kilometres per hour. The highest temperature in MP was recorded in Khargone, which sizzled at 45 degree Celsius.
