Bike lifter flees cop custody, held

BHOPAL: A 22-year-old vehicle lifter who escaped from police custody was arrested by Berasia police again.
Police said, the accused Kishore Kushwaha was arrested on Tuesday while police were investigating a case of stolen motorcycles. Two motorcycles were recovered from his possession. Since then, the accused was in police custody.
Berasia SHO Ajay Mishra said, “Police had to produce him before court on Wednesday. The accused, afraid of going to jail, planned to escape police custody.
He told the cop who was on his routine duty on Wednesday morning at the police station, that he wants to go to washroom. The policeman opened the lock up and was taking him to the washroom, when the accused dodged the cop and managed to flee.”
SHO Mishra said that the cop immediately alerted senior officers over the wireless set and a team of Berasia police rushed out to nab the accused. Police already had his whereabouts details, so he was later arrested and taken into custody. After the incident the police produced him before the court and he was sent to jail.
