Bhopal wakes up to nippy weather, temperature dips 3
BHOPAL: City woke up to nippy weather on Sunday morning as minimum temperature saw a dip of three degrees Celsius from a day earlier. Local office of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said weather conditions would continue to be the same in till next two to three days.
From 15.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday, minimum temperature went down to 12.5 degrees Celsius at the break of dawn on Sunday.
Weatherman attributed the drop in minimum temperature to northerly winds.
However, maximum temperature was on higher side — 28.1 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal— on Sunday.
The wind direction is expected to be same northerly or north easterly in next few days and morning temperature would also continue to hover around 12 degrees Celsius, weatherman said.
Weatherman said further dip in temperature may take place after western disturbances, a condition that may develop some time next month.
Mandla on the banks of river Narmada in Satpura hills continues to be the coldest place in the state, where minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius was recorded on Sunday. For past some days, minimum temperature in the district is hovering between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius.
