BHOPAL: Senior BJP leader and home minister,
Narottam Mishra, on Thursday said that Congress is a sinking ship in
Madhya Pradesh, and BJP would retain two
Rajya Sabha seats in the state.
“Who will board a sinking ship? Everyone knows what Congress is going through these days. You must have noticed that supporters of leaders in the Gwalior-Chambal region have resented that they (Congress) are sending outsiders to their region for the bypolls,” Mishra said.
Talking about the impending bypolls in 24 assembly seats, Mishra said, “There are 16 seats in Gwalior-Chambal and (Congress) leaders who do not have a local base were being sent to the region, while those with a base were being ignored.
BJP will surely win all the seats in the region”, the minister added.
Mishra, who was elected from Datia seat, is a prominent name in the region and holds sway among voters.
