Four burglaries reported in Bhopal in 24 hours

BHOPAL: Four houses were reportedly burgled in the city in the past 24 hours. In one of the cases, the thieves decamped not just with valuables, but with ration that was stocked in the house and LPG cylinders too.
In the first incident reported at Jehangirabad police station, burglars targeted a locked house in a covered campus colony belonging to a 45-year-old forest department employee and decamped with cash worth Rs 10,000 along with jewellery kept in the house.
Investigating officer, ASI Kaleem-ud-din, said that the complainant Khursid Qureshi, 45, hails from Indore. He resides in Bhopal alongwith family in a covered campus colony on Chiklod road, in Jehangirabd. He is an employee at the forest department in Bhopal.
The ASI said that Qureshi stated in his complaint that on March 21, he had gone to leave his children in Indore. However, due to the lockdown, he got stuck in Indore. When he returned home on Monday, he found that the window grille of his house had been removed from the window.
On checking, he found that valuables along with ration and gas cylinder worth around Rs 50,000 were stolen by the unidentified accused.
According to the ASI, the accused entered inside the house after removing the window grille. No CCTV cameras were installed in the colony campus. Acting on his complaint, a burglary case was registered and further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, in the second incident reported at Nishatpura police station, unidentified accused decamped with cash of Rs 11,000 and valuables worth around Rs 50,000 after breaking the lock of the main door of the house. Police said that the complainant Rajiv Sharma said that he works in a private firm. He stated in his complaint that on the night of May 31, he went to his father’s home in Govindpura police lines. When he returned the next day, he found that the door lock was broken and electronics items and cash were missing.
In the third incident reported at Piplani, unidentified accused barged inside the house after breaking the window and fled with mobile phones worth around Rs 20,000 on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
Another theft case was reported at Kamla Nagar police station. Investigations are on in all the four cases.
