BHOPAL: Bridging the gap between the
rural and urban youth,
youngsters of Bhopal organised camps at villages to get in touch with the ways of rural India and learn the nature-friendly way of life.
The initiative was stated in 2017 and has gained a lot of popularity among the youth of India. For the first time in two years the event will be organized in Gujarat with Maldhari community of the state from June 14 to June 24.
Mosin Khan, of
Ansh Happiness associated with Rurban, said, "We are working to make the urban youth understand that rural people have their own way of life and know nature far more than the people brought up in air conditioned houses.
We want to bust the myth that rural people are not as intelligent as the city people."
This camp will take place in rural parts of Gujarat and will include interaction and living with the nomadic pastoral Maldhari community. The youth will also participate in their national parliament and an interaction with Gandhian thoughts on the banks of Sabarmati River in celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Kasturba and Mahatma Gandhi.
"Since Mahatma Gandhi stressed on the importance of local self-government and stood for minimalistic lifestyle. This year is even more important for us to encourage youth of rural and urban areas to interact and learn from each other," he added.
