BHOPAL: Congress leader and
Rajya Sabha member Vivek Tankha hoped that the MP government will very soon address the problems of farmers from
Jabalpur region.
In a tweet the senior lawyer and politician stated, “I have received information that MP government will soon take action to redress grievances of farmers from Jabalpur region. I am hopeful that action would be initiated and most of the problems would be addressed by March 30.”
Farmers from Jabalpur region are demanding that the state government fulfill the promises made in its ‘vachan patra’ (manifesto) with regards to farm
loan waiver and bonus on crop yield.
They are alleging that the loans of only farmers who defaulted were waived off till now, while the others are waiting. The party had pomised to waive off farm loans worth Rs 2 lakh of all farmers.
