BHOPAL: State home minister Bala Bachchan has said that the state government will inquire and take necessary action into the death of a youth in police custody in Bairagarh in the early hours of Wednesday.
The minister also hit out at BJP leaders and said wards have turned aggressive and were taking law into their own hands and stringent action will be taken if anybody is found guilty.

“Cops are investigating the death of a youth in custody in Bairagarh area. The government will take necessary action against cops if they are found to be guilty in the incident”, Bachchan told reporters at his official residence on Wednesday.
The home minister also hinted stern action against those involved in attacks and other crimes. When asked about the incident in Narsinghpur, Bachchan said, “Sons of BJP leaders Prahlad Singh Patel and Kamal Patel are taking law in their hands. If someone breaks the rule of law, the government will take action. An FIR has been registered against 20 persons in the Narsinghpur incident”.
Replying to allegations by former BJP minister Jalam Singh Patel that Congress government has turned revengeful against BJP leaders and registering fake cases against their family members, Bachchan said that the state government has no time for revenge politics.
“Do you think that the government has time to do vendetta politics? No, we do not have time for this. But, anybody who breaks the law will have to face very stringent action”, said the minister.

Meanwhile, the state BJP has attacked the Congress government for turning ‘insensitive’ towards common people. BJP national vice-president and former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that police in Madhya Pradesh has turned autocratic and Congress has lost control over the police and administration.
“It is extremely shameful that cops have turned autocratic and the government has lost control over the administration. The government has turned insensitive. There should be fair probes in the case related to son and nephew of Union minister Prahlad Patel”, said Chouhan.
Leader of Opposition (LoP) Gopal Bhargava also condemned the death of the youth in police custody at Bairagarh. “There is no control over law and order in the state. Only mass transfers are being done by the Kamal Nath government . BJP will raise the issue of custodial death in the coming session of the Vidhan Sabha”, he said.
