Madhya Pradesh elections 2018: List of constituencies, candidates and parties

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on October 6, 2018, announced the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) election dates. As per EC's announcement, the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh will be held in a single phase on November 28, 2018. The counting of the votes will be done on December 11, 2018. The term for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly expires on January 7, 2019.

The two leading parties in the state, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and Indian National Congress (INC), is gearing up for a tough election battle in the state. In the previous Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections (2013), the Congress faced a major defeat, winning merely 58 out of the 230 assembly seats.
The BJP won 165 out of the 230 Assembly constituencies, while the rest 7 were won by other political parties. After the victory of BJP in 2013 assembly elections, Shivraj Singh Chouhan was elected the CM of state for the third consecutive time.
