BHOPAL: From classical to jazz, music events at Minto Hall, Shaurya Smarak and Bharat Bhavan as part of 'Hriday Drishyam wowed Bhoplais on Saturday.
A revisit to the Indian classics
Minto Hall: While Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, a renowned flautist, mesmerised the audience at Minto hall, with raga Madhuvanti as the first performance of the two-day event. The maestro and his nephew Rakesh Chaurasia entertained the crowd with the 'evening raga'.
Introducing the audience to the raga, the maestro said, "It is a soft raga that defines early evening when the sun has just begun to set, it creates a perfect ambience to help one meditate during the evening hours. It is associated with the calmness of approaching dusk".
And, the star moment of the evening was, when the maestro played compositions in Roopak tala and Teen taal.
City sways to bollywood beats
Shaurya Smarak: Shefali Alveras , a playback singer, treated city's crowd with her Bollywood numbers at Shaury Smarak, on Saturday. The singer hit the right notes with the youngsters with 'Shape of you' and other well-known melodies. From performances on 'Fitoor pareshaan' to 'Kinna Sona', the singer left no stone to win the audience. She even sang the 'Break-up song', adding a pinch of humour among youngsters. Her performances on 'O Gujaria', 'Nashe si chadh gai', 'Beech beech mein', 'Gulaboo' were the main highlights of the event and left the crowd wanting for more.

Bhopal gets a taste of Afro-Peruvian jazz
Bharat Bhavan: Golpe Tierra, an Afro-Peruvian band from USA, delighted the music lovers of the city with their original compositions at the Bharat Bhavan on Saturday.
Starting with their most popular song 'Golpe con Golpe', describing the purpose of the band to the 'Respira' that inspired the people to breathe without fear and a Spanish original called 'Saturno', accompanied with the beats of cajon, guitar along with saxophone by Pawan Benjamin, the package was highly appreciated by the audience.
