9 AIIMS-Bhopal students suspended for ragging

Taking a serious note of ragging complaint, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal, anti-ragging cell has suspended three students for six months, whereas another six were given one month suspension.

BHOPAL: Taking a serious note of ragging complaint, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal, anti-ragging cell has suspended three students for six months, whereas another six were given one month suspension.
The action followed after a complaint was registered on the UGC national anti-ragging helpline by the junior students.
AIIMS Bhopal anti-ragging met and spoke with the junior students and met for the second day running.
Suspension and debarring of the accused students from campus, was confirmed by a senior AIIMS Bhopal official. The suspended students are in their second year. Three accused were found to be the main perpetrators and six others were punished for supporting the ragging activity.
An action taken report was filed on the UGC anti-ragging portal on Tuesday.
According to UGC anti-ragging helpline portal, the complaint was logged at around 10 am on Monday. AIIMS officials said the junior students complained of ragging. The incident took place after the junior group was returning to the hostel after their meal. They alleged they were harassed in the hostel.
