Honing leadership skills in a fast changing world
BHUBANESWAR: To provide a platform to nurture the skills of principals and heads of institutes to manage their affairs effectively in this changing world, Student Centred Accelerated Leadership In Education (SCALE) organized a conference on Scaling Leadership Potential in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. Director of National Council for Education, Research and Training (NCERT) Hrushikesh Senapaty inaugurated the conference at Mindtree campus here.
Director of Presidency Group of Schools, Bangalore, Dr G Thangadurai spoke on the essential skills for leaders.
"It will take leaders with a different way of thinking and different skills to reinvent themselves.," he said.
Prominent personalities in the field of education, principals, trustee members and chairman of schools participated in the discussion enthusiastically. Kalyan Banjerjee, co-founder of Mindtree, underlined the social realities in the country and the need for leaders to understand them. Program director, Global Learning Centre, Rishin Chakraborty shared tips on design and thinking while former CBSE director G Balasubramaniam highlighted the need for principals and heads to stay relevant in this fast moving world. Students of SBD International School, Bhadrak, presented an Odissi dance recital as part of the inauguration programme.
