Odisha government appoints new collectors in nine districts
BHUBANESWAR: The state government on Friday appointed new collectors in nine districts as part of a major bureaucratic reshuffle. At least 32 senior IAS and OAS officers were given new assignments as part of the rejig.
The positions of BMC commissioner Samarth Verma and Kendrapada collector Prem Chandra Chaudhary were swapped. Chaudhary has also been given additional charge of CEO, Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited, and vice-chairmanship of Bhubaneswar Development Authority.
While Koraput collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy has been transferred to Balasore, Poma Tudu has been brought in his place.
Madhusmita Sahoo replaced Tudu as new collector of Nuapada. Senior OAS officers - Lalatendu Mishra and Sangram Mohapatra - have been posted as the new collectors of Boudh and Jagatsinghpur districts, respectively.
Among others OAS officers, Sitansu Kumar Rout will take charge as the new collector of Khurda, while Bhabani Shankar Chayani is the new Cuttack collector with additional charge of vice chairman, Cuttack Development Corporation. Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan is the new Jharsuguda collector.
IAS officer Ananya Das has been made the commissioner of Cuttack Municipal Corporation, while Abdaal Akhtar has been appointed as project director, district rural development agency. Archana Patnaik has been made the managing director of Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation, while Aravind Agarwal has been made the director, social welfare and CEO, Odisha Mineral Bearing Area Development Corporation.
Yamini Sarangi has been made the managing director of Odisha State Medical Corporation and Bhupendra Poonia, state project director, Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority. Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar is the new joint secretary, state health and family welfare department. Similarly, Reghu G is the new director of technical education and training, while Surendra Kumar Meena will serve as secretary, Board of Revenue, Odisha.
Senior OAS officers -- Jyoti Prakash Das and Krupasindhu Mishra -have been made the director, textiles and managing director, Boyanika and director, information and public relations department. Among others, Laxmidhar Mohanty was transferred to higher education department while Ramesh Chandra Rout and Bibhuti Bhusan Das were placed as director, employees state insurance and additional secretary, revenue department respectively. Dasarathy Satpathy is the new secretary of Odisha assembly, while Nirmal Chandra Mishra will serve as director, tourism and managing director, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation. Prasanta Kumar Senapati is the new inspector general of registrar, Cuttack.
