BHUBANESWAR: A constable of Railway Protection Force (RPF), N B Rao, on Sunday saved a passenger falling into the gap between a running train and platform at Bhubaneswar station.
The incident came to light after East Coast Railway (ECoR) shared the video captured on CCTV with media on Monday.
The 34-second video clip showed that 24-year-old passenger Nazir Malik from West Bengal fell into the gap of the running train and platform while he was trying to get down from Bhadrak-Bhubaneswar MEMU train on Sunday evening.

Constable N B Rao, who was present there, immediately lifted the man and saved him from entering into the gap. ECoR and others praised him for showing exemplary presence of mind and passenger safety consciousness, said a statement issued by the railway zone.
On May 23, a railway telecom engineer Tapas Ranjan Barik had saved the life of an elderly woman passenger, who had tried to get down from a running train at Cuttack railway station.
A similar incident happened at Cuttack station on August 17 last year. A RPF constable had saved a woman passengers life by pulling her out of the platform gap.
