Two arrested by Delhi Police from Bhubaneswar in fraud case
BHUBANESWAR: The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested two persons from the city in connection with a bank fraud case. The two belonging to Bhubaneswar, had duped the ICICI bank in New Delhi of Rs 1.54 crore by submitting a forged cheque.
Police sources said a two-member team of the Delhi Police with the help of the commissionerate police arrested the duo from Jaydev Vihar area under Nayapalli police limits in the city. They will be produced before a local court here on Friday.
The Delhi team will take the duo on remand for further interrogation in the fraud case, said a senior police officer.

The two, both in their fifties, were identified as Budhadeb Bhanja of Rangamatia under Mancheswar police limits and Bibhas Parida of Jaydev Vihar under the Nayapalli police station. They had opened a travel agency in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar area. Three months ago, they had withdrawn money from the bank by submitting a forged cheque, said a police officer.
“We have information regarding arrest of two men from Jaydev Vihar area of the city by Delhi Police. They have been arrested under section 420 of IPC. We don’t have much information about the case,” said city DCP Satyabrat Bhoi.
