Air Asia Delhi-Srinagar flight makes emergency landing at Chandigarh airport
The aircraft had approximately 88 passengers on-board with 15 crew members
MOHALI: An Air Asia flight from Delhi to Srinagar made an emergency landing at Chandigarh International Airport on Sunday.
Technical snag in the engine was the cause of the emergency landing, the official spokesperson of Airport Authority of India (AAI) said.
The spokesperson said that at around 11am, the Air Force ATC received an SOS call from Air Asia Delhi-Srinagar flight informing of some technical Snag in one of the engines and sought permission for making an emergency landing at the Chandigarh International Airport.

The Runway was immediately cleared and all emergency rescue operation teams were stationed along the runway enabling the aircraft to make the emergency landing. The aircraft had approximately 88 passengers on-board with 15 crew members, the official spokesperson said.
He said that all the passengers had been de-boarded from the aircraft and rested in the passengers' lounge where they were waiting for Air Asia to send another aircraft to transport the passengers to their desired destinations.
