Ajay Chautala's party to fight assembly, Lok Sabha elections

CHANDIGARH/JIND: Three days after former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala's elder son and former MP Ajay Chautala announced to form a new political outfit, he announced to contest the next year's assembly elections and the Lok Sabha polls from all 10 seats in the state.
"We will contest on all Lok Sabha seats (from Haryana) as well as the next state assembly elections," Ajay told media persons at his Delhi residence on Tuesday, hours before his two-week parole ended.He had announced to float a new political outfit next month, after he was expelled from the primary membership of INLD for alleged anti-party activities. Earlier, his two sons were expelled from the party's primary membership for allegedly "vitiating the party discipline".
Ajay, who is undergoing a 10-year jail term with father Om Prakash Chautala since 2013 in a teachers' recruitment scam, said the name of his new party, which will be launched next month, will include 'Jan Nayak', an apparent reference to the Chautala brothers' grandfather and former deputy prime minister Devi Lal. "It's time to follow the path shown by Chaudhary Devi Lal," he said, adding that the new outfit was also likely to contest the bypoll for the Jind assembly seat, which fell vacant in August when INLD MLA Hari Chand Middha died.
The father and sons have started preparations for their December 9 rally near Pandu Pindara village in Jind district. Digvijay, who visited the rally spot on Tuesday along with his supporters, told TOI that a committee had already been formed to frame the constitution of the new outfit. He said the panel members would decide on its name and symbol, which would be disclosed on December 9 in Jind.
A formal invitation for the December rally would be sent to Akhilesh Yadav, former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Tejashwi Yadav, son of former CM of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav. Ruling out any tie-up with Congress and BJP, Digivjay said they may opt for an alliance with AAP and BSP for the 2019 assembly elections in Haryana.
