Chandigarh: Students question NEET answer keys, write to NTA
Due to wrong answer keys, students claim they have lost marks
CHANDIGARH: A day after the declaration of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the students wrote to National Testing Agency (NTA) asking them to review the answer keys as they feel that wrong answer keys have been marked correct making them lose marks.
"I would like to inform you that I feel there are some wrong answers in the final answer key. I was given question set S1 and I believe that the given answer is wrong in Q.no.166.
The answer given is 30J which should be -30J. I would also like to add that in Q.no.104, more than one answer seems to be correct," Khushi Aggarwal, one of the candidates in her mail stated.
"Yesterday answer of a question in chemistry was changed from -30 to +30. I would really want to know how physics concept were applied in chemistry questions overnight. The question which wasn't meant to be changed has been changed and genuine biology challenges have been totally ignored," stated another candidate requesting anonymity in her email to NTA.
She also stated that question number 164 has two correct options whereas question number 114 has both its option as false according to National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) as well as MBBS books. "Why NTA is not giving answers keeping NCERT as the reference. Why does the questions have two answers,"asked the candidate in her email.
Ajay Sharma, a parent of the student stated that "For example, question 72 has two answers according to you but the students don't know this. Many students, including my daughter, left the question afraid of negative marking." He stated in the email that NTA should not play with the future of 15 lakh students where a single mark matters a lot.
Though it had been more than 24 hours since the students wrote to NTA, they are yet to hear from the agency. Feeling agitated, parents are now planning to knock the doors of the court if they do not hear from NTA on the issue. They have mentioned the same in their email as well.
