A Class IX student dressed in school uniform has been caught by the public red-handed while stealing two-wheeler from Sector 8 parking on Saturday noon.

CHANDIGARH: A Class IX student dressed in school uniform has been caught by the public red-handed while stealing two-wheeler from Sector 8 parking on Saturday noon. During investigation, cops recovered a stolen Activa from his possession. Police produced him before the juvenile justice board and sent him to juvenile home.
Police from Sector 3 police station said they received an information that locals nabbed a boy while stealing scooter from Sector 8.
On this information, cops reached the spot and the locals handed over the boy to the cops.
Owner of the scooter said she had gone to a bank for some personal work after parking her scooter in the market. When she returned , she saw the boy was trying to break the handle lock of the scooter. She immediately dialled 100 and raised an alarm. Passers-by nabbed the boy from parking and meantime, boy broke the handle lock of the scooter.
Cops claimed that during further investigation, boy confessed that he had stolen an Activa from near public toilet in the same sector on January 30. Cops said while stealing Activa , he was caught in the CCTV camera. On his disclosure, cops recovered the stolen Activa scooter. Later, cops sent him to juvenile justice board after verifying his age.
