Fake job racket busted in Faridabad, four arrested

CHANDIGARH: A special team of Cyber Crime Cell, Faridabad Police has arrested four persons from a fake call centre in new grain market, Sector-16 Faridabad, who were involved in an organised online job fraud and cheated unemployed youth particularly from South India.
A spokesperson of Haryana Police said mobile phone, laptop and a computer system was also recovered from their possession.

The arrested accused have been identified as Naveen Gandhi of Faridabad, Abhishek Singh alias Pankaj, a native of Uttar Pradesh presently residing in Faridabad, Harpreet Singh of Delhi and Dheeraj Singh Mehta of Uttrakhand, living in Delhi.
He said that all accused used to take record of applicants from job portal shine.com to contact them on phone promising a job in airlines and hotels abroad. The victims were asked to deposit money into their bank accounts as fees. The gang mostly targeted youths from South India making it difficult for the victims to trace them due to long distance.
He said that accused had also created a commercial mail id in the name of jetairlines.com to cheat the innocent people. For this purpose, they also used jet airways logo while sending emails to the applicants.
A case under IT Act has been registered against them at a Faridabad police station.
