A workshop on ‘Financial Literacy and Stiching Skills’ was organized on Thursday evening at village Dadheri near
Mandi Gobindgarh. The Enactus team of
Panjab University, which works in
project Uday, visited the village to conduct the workshop. Project Uday, under which the people are sensitized about dangers of using
plastic, also works to generate employment opportunities for the underprivileged ladies of Mandi Gobindgarh.
The team designed cloth bags made from excess fabric during the session to show the ladies about how they can make money by utilising their
stitching skills. About 65 people including the ladies of the community, villagers and students participated in the workshop and were told about the idea of making unique and catchy bags.
