Haryana: Man arrested for raping 6-year-old girl

CHANDIGARH: The Jhajjar police arrested a 30-year-old man who allegedly raped a 6-year-old girl living in the same house where they lived in a rented accommodation in outskirts of Bahadurgarh city.
The crime happened on Sunday evening when the girl was alone at home and her parents were away to their place of work. SHO of Bahadurgarh city police station said that the accused who was co tenant of the complainant's family, took the girl to his room where he raped her and left the room.
On Monday, the family approached the police and the case was registered. "The survivor’s family as well as the accused belonged to the same village in Uttar Pardesh, hence family could not suspect him. Later the girl informed police. The accused was rounded up and a case was registered," said Inspector Surender Singh, SHO of Bahadurgarh city police station
The accused has confessed that he committed the crime under the influence of liquor. On Tuesday he was produced in the court which remanded him to judicial custody, he added.
