CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana high court on Saturday issued notice to the Punjab government on a plea filed by MLA Simarjit Singh Bains to implead him as a party in the case related to Ludhiana City Center in which chief minister Amarinder Singh is one of the accused.
Justice Inderjit Singh issued the notice while hearing the Bains' petition.
The MLA has approached the HC after a local court in Ludhiana had dismissed his plea on the grounds of locus standi.
Next hearing is on January 23.
On September 16, Bainshad filed an application before a local court challenging the closure report filed by the vigilance bureau in the case but it was rejected.
