Man held with 7 grams heroin in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh police arrested a man with 7 grams heroin near sector 45-B on Friday night.
The accused, identified as Sonu Goyal, 35, resident of Zirakpur, was arrested by the sector 34 police at around 1.30pm. The police team was patrolling the area to keep a tab on snatching and vehicle-lifting incidents.
Sonu, who was seen coming towards the police party on his foot from sector 33/45 light side, tried to flee when he noticed cops.Police chased him and nabbed him. During search, cops recovered 7 grams heroin from his possession. He was booked under the NDPS Act. Police on Tuesday produced the accused before the local court, which sent him in 14 day judicial custody.
