While the Congress has termed the bandh a success, the BJP has called it a flop show.

State Congress president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the bandh was a complete success and AICC in charge for state Rajni Patil herself was leading the protest in Shimla. He said rising fuel prices and falling rupee was a matter of concern and it showed the failure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre. In Shimla, though shops were opened during the morning hours, the Congress and CPIM workers ensured the closure of all shops. The Congress started its protest march from Lower Bazar. After the Congress protest passed through the markets, shops were opened again. While the Congress blocked the traffic on the circular road near the Lift, CPIM blocked the traffic at Victory Tunnel.
In Mandi, impact of the Bandh was witnessed at Moti Bazar, Chohatta and Mahajan Bazar, while in other places shops remained open. At Indira Market, the protesters tried to shut the shops.
In Solan, shops remained open though the Congress held protest demonstration.
Even in Una, most of the shops remained open, though the Congress workers blocked traffic at the Chandigarh-Dharamshala road.
Health minister Vipin Singh Parmar and industries minister Bikram Singh Thakur, in a joint statement said call of the Congress' Bandh flopped in the state with the people of the state rejecting it completely. They said people were also familiar with the fact that crude oil prices were sky rocketing in the international market therefore no country in the world could remain un-affected.
