SAD reaches out to LSP for alliance in Haryana
KURUKSHETRA: Loktantra Suraksha Party (LSP) president Raj Kumar Saini met Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLAs Manjinder Singh Sirsa and N K Sharma at his residence here to discuss a possible alliance between the two parties on Sunday.
SAD Rajouri Garden MLA Sirsa later tweeted about the meeting. “To uphold the rights of Punjabis and Sikhs in Haryana, the SAD is stepping up to form positive equations and alliances for the upcoming elections in Haryana.
In this endeavour, today, we met (Kurukshetra) MP Raj Kumar Saini Ji to discuss the possible alliance,” he said.
MLA Sirsa told TOI that they were working towards alliances with parties of like-minded ideologies and the meeting with Saini was in line with that. “We plan to bring Sikhs, Punjabis, and Sainis of Haryana together and the meetings have been planned with different parties accordingly. We are discussing possible seat-sharing options and meetings will continue in coming time,” he said.
When asked about the LSP’s alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Sirsa said they had no problem with it as the BSP is a strong organisation. “It would be a plus point for our alliance,” he said.
Not confirming the alliance as of now, Sirsa said they were only holding talks with all parties.
When asked about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sirsa said they were already in alliance with it.
Sirsa said they had kept all options open and would hold meetings with the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) to discuss the terms of the possible alliance. “As of now, we are holding only discussions. If our discussions come through, we may form an alliance with them as well,” he said.
TOI tried reaching out to MP Saini, but he could not be contacteded.
