CHANDIGARH: The city residents relished the splendor of regional folk dances in “Lok Nritya Utsav”, a two days programme, organized by North Zone Culture Centre,
Patiala in collaboration with Chandigarh
Sangeet Natak Akademi at Tagore Theatre on Monday.
The programme opened up with a Mangnihar Singing folk dance of
Rajasthan presented by Rajasthan troup, which was followed by the famous Kalbelia dance and than the vibrant Terratalli, Chakri, dance of Rajasthan.
The day concluded with a superlative performance Bhawai dance of Rajastha .
Saubhagya Vardhan, Director, North Zone Culture Centre, Patiala and Kamal Arora, Chairman, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi welcomed the chief guest Sh. Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS, Director Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh Administration who later honoured the artists.
