CHANDIGARH: Police have booked a Ludhiana resident for allegedly sending morphed and obscene pictures and lewd messages to the daughter of a Punjab and Haryana high court lawyer on her mobile phone and threatening to upload them on social media.
Rahul Nagpal had been harassing the woman, 29, for last more than one year. As the accused came to know that she was going to get married, Nagpal called up her father and told him that he wanted to marry her as he loved her.
He met the accused and cleared the stand of his daughter, who did not even know him. The woman got married in January this year. Even after that, the accused did not stop his activities.
The woman's father filed a complaint at the SSP public window. The cyber cell summoned him, but he did not show up. In March, the cyber cell summoned him again. Nagpal came to the office with his father and apologised in written, assuring he would not send the woman messages. But after a few days, he returned to his old methods. He allegedly sent obscene pictures and videos to her husband and in-laws on their mobile phones and mail too.
