106 suburban trains to remain cancelled in Chennai

Southern Railway has announced cancellation of 100 EMU services in Chennai on Sunday for carrying out maintenance work.

CHENNAI: Southern Railway has announced cancellation of 106 EMU services in Chennai on Sunday for carrying out maintenance work.
On the Chennai Beach-Velachery section, 19 pairs of trains in both directions will remain cancelled from 7:50am to 2:35pm on February 17 (Sunday).
The first Chennai Beach – Velachery EMU after the block will be Train No.41551, leaving Chennai Beach at 2pm.

Similarly, in the return direction, the first Velachery – Chennai Beach EMU after the block will be Train No.41548, leaving Velachery at 2:10pm.
On the Chennai-Villivakkam section, SR has planned track maintenance work between Basin Bridge and Villivakkam between 10:05am and 2pm on February 17.
Consequently, 18 EMU trains from MMC and six EMU trains from Chennai Beach totalling 24 EMU trains towards Avadi, Tiruvallur, Pattabiram Siding, Tiruttani, Kadambattur and Arakkonam are fully cancelled.
Similarly, in the return direction, 18 EMU Services from Avadi, Tiruvallur, Pattabiram Siding, Tiruttani, Kadambattur and Arakkonam to MMC and 3 EMU services to Chennai Beach are fully cancelled.

However, passenger specials will be run. There will be a passenger special from Avadi to Pattabiram Siding at 1:50pm, one from MMC to Arakkonam at 9:45am and another from Arakkonam to Tiruttani at 11:55am. There will be three passenger specials from Arakkonam to Tiruttani at 11.55am, 1.50pm and 2:25pm.
There will be a passenger special from Tiruvallur to MMC at 1.15pm.
There will be a passenger special from Avadi to Arakkonam at 11.10am.
On the Chennai-Gudur section, engineering work has been planned at Ennore station between 12.10am to 3.40am. Hence No 42001 MMC - Gummudipundi EMU local scheduled to leave MMC at 12.15am on February 18 and No 42001 Gummudipundi - MMC EMU local scheduled to leave Gummudipundi at 2.45am are cancelled.
