CHENNAI: The ruling
AIADMK is gearing up for the yet to be notified local body elections in
Tamil Nadu.
The party has invited
applications from desiring partymen willing to contest the local body elections and fixed application fee for different categories of the civic posts.
A joint statement issued by party coordinator and deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam and party joint coordinator and chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday asked desiring AIADMK leaders and cadres to submit their applications at their respective district headquarters of the party on November 15 and 16.
The statement also announced a list of in-charges, along with 2-3 office-bearers, for all 56 party districts. These leaders will station themselves in those districts to receive the applications.
Earlier in the day, participating in the wedding of the youngest son of state higher education minister K P Anbalagan in Dharmapuri district, chief minister Palaniswami said by emerging victorious in the recent assembly bypolls in Vikravandi and Nanguneri, AIADMK had established itself as the people’s party. “We have proved our strength,” Palaniswami said.
