Chennai rain may continue for 48 hours, weathermen say

CHENNAI: Sharp and moderate rain gave Chennai a great start to the weekend. Weathermen have forecast more showers for the next 48 hours.
Weather experts said the rainfall was due to the formation of convective clouds.
After light late evening spells on Friday, the city and its suburbs received light to moderate rainfall in the early hours of Saturday. There were power cuts in a few localities.
Rain continued as the day progressed.Weathermen have forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers in the city for the next 48 hours.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre's forecast, "The sky condition is likely to be generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 36 and 27 degrees Celsius respectively."
