SALEM: Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday said though there is a Madras high court ban on hoardings and banners, there is no HC direction against erecting flagpoles.
The chief minister was reacting to reporters’ questions on an accident in Coimbatore where a woman riding a two-wheeler suffered injuries after being hit by a truck. It was alleged that the accident happened while the woman, Anuradha, was trying to avoid a falling flagpole erected by the ruling AIADMK.

Palaniswami said he didn't know much about the accident that happened on Monday evening. “We will look into this issue," he said.
Palaniswami was in Salem to attend a party function.
